Comprised of the eclectic instrumentation of flute, cello and piano, the Sylvan Trio explores new music as well as pieces from the standard repertoire. The group has performed concerts in Chicago, Cincinnati, Duluth, MN, West Lafayette, IN as well as a tour of the upper Midwest.
The Sylvan Trio (flutist Suzanne Bona, cellist Josh Aerie, and pianist Greg Kostraba) presents a recording of music by women composers spanning three centuries. Enjoy a Flute Sonata by a Princess, plus trios by one of the 19th-century’s greatest pianists and a trailblazing composer whose music caused quite a stir in fashionable Parisian salons. The recording also features works for flute and piano, including a Nocturne, Five Bagatelles, and a Reflective Rag.
